She replaces Dr. Elizabeth Sayrs, whose appointment as OHIO’s interim executive vice president and provost was announced in early January. Busch will continue in the acting dean role until a permanent EVPP is chosen and Sayrs returns University College.

“I am confident in Dr. Busch’s ability to lead University College during this time of transition and greatly appreciate her willingness to serve in this capacity,” President Nellis said.

Busch, who currently serves as assistant dean of student accessibility in University College, oversees the work of Student Accessibility Services, which provides accommodations to students and supports faculty and members of the University community in ensuring equal opportunity and access. Prior to becoming assistant dean, Busch served as the director of disability services and regional campus accessibility coordinator, as well as assistant director of career services. She has spent more than a decade of her career at OHIO.

In 2015, Busch was a recipient of Ohio University’s Outstanding Administrator Award, which is given to administrators at OHIO in recognition of their significant contributions to the University community.

A three-time OHIO alumna, Busch earned her doctorate from Ohio University in 2015. In addition to her role as an administrator, Busch is also an active researcher and scholar.
