The Contemporary History Institute presents a lecture by Dr. Steven M. Miner on “The Furies Unleashed: New Perspectives of the Soviet Union at War” held on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 4:30 pm in Baker 242.
Miner is Professor of History at Ohio University, where for the last decade he served as director of the Contemporary History Institute. He is the author of two books, with a third due to be published this coming year and a fourth under contract and nearing completion. His first book, Between Churchill and Stalin, received the American Historical Association’s George Louis Beer Award for the best book in European History.
In addition to scholarly works, Miner has published in newspapers such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times, and he has been interviewed on television and radio networks including Newsweek Radio, NPR, the CBC, and the BBC World Service (in Russian).
The talk is open to the public.
