Joy Kostansek, the president of Food Matters, the student organization affiliated with the Food Studies theme, has successfully written a grant request to fund student travel to the 9th annual Organic Seed Growers Conference.
This event is hosted by the Organic Seed Alliance in Corvallis, Ore., over a weekend in February. This event is the leading conference in the world of seed, featuring presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
“The 9th Organic Seed Growers Conference theme is Synergy that Sustains. This year’s theme reflects an emphasis on developing networks for research, education, and advocacy, and supporting a diversity of approaches to advancing organic seed systems,” according to the conference website.
This opportunity is invaluable for anyone interested in seed sovereignty, and it will be an incredible opportunity for students of the Food Matters organization.
