Dr. Myrna Perez Sheldon received two outside grants this year, a short-term fellowship from the Library Company of Philadelphia and one from the American Philosophical Society.
Sheldon is Assistant Professor of Classics & World Religions and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies at Ohio University,
She was awarded a Mellon Scholars Program in African American History Short-Term Fellowship from the Library Company of Philadelphia for her project on “The Ontology of a Mixed-Race Woman.”
She also received a William T. Golden Fellowship from the American Philosophical Society. The American Philosophical Society Library offers short-term residential fellowships for conducting research in its collections. The library is “a leading international center for research in the history of American science and technology and its European roots, as well as early American history and culture,” according to its website.
