Editor’s Note: Every College of Arts & Sciences student has accomplishments worth bragging about, and we want to help you do just that! Each week we will feature a profile on a CAS student who’s doing great things. If you would like to share the accomplishments of yourself, your friends, your students, or your colleagues, please contact Tetyana Dovbnya, dovbnya@ohio.edu.
As an international student, Bowen Shi had some initial challenges when he arrived in Athens in 2013, including a language barrier and a very different classroom culture than he was used to in China.
But the senior majoring in Economics has taken advantage of Ohio University’s many opportunities to expand his global horizon. He joined student government, helped with the Ohio Program of Intensive English orientation for new international students, organized Around the World in 80 Minutes, and studied abroad in Germany, even backpacking around Europe for a month after his academic program.
