“Oh neat. I am on SNL now,” tweeted Ohio University alum Luke Null ’12.

“NBC’s Saturday Night Live is adding a trio of fresh faces to its cast,” reports the Hollywood Reporter. “The veteran sketch comedy has enlisted Chris Redd, Heidi Gardner and Luke Null as featured performers for its upcoming 43rd season.”

In addition to being a featured player, Null also writes sketches.

Null earned a B.S. in Geographic Information Systems from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.

While at OHIO, Null was a member of Black Sheep Improv, Blue Pencil Comedy, and Fridays Live.

“He has always wanted to be on Saturday Night Live,” his mother, Cindy Null, told the Hamilton Journal News. “He started acting and being in plays in junior high … taught himself how to play the guitar and he actually spoke of it, saying he would love to be on Saturday Night Live,” Null said.

“He enjoys the limelight,” she added. “He’s a ham and he holds court a lot of time during the (family) holidays with the cousins. He is very gregarious and he likes to put himself out there. I’m not surprised and I’m pleased for him.”

“Null is a Chicago-based musical comedian and improviser hailing from iO Chicago. His credits include the 2011 film The Heart: The Final Pulse. He is repped by UTA,” says the Reporter.

WCPO in Cincinnati says of the native Cincinnatian, “Null, a veteran of the Chicago comedy scene, worked in client services at a real-estate firm while performing in the Newport Hounds comedy troupe and composing comedic songs, including the heart-rending ballad ‘Clay Aiken Should’ve Won Season Two.’”
