The Mathematical Biology and Dynamical Systems Seminar meets Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 3:05 to 4p.m. in 218 Morton Hall.
The speaker is Dr. Winfried Just, Professor of Mathematics on”Games and Germs: A Playful Introduction.”
Abstract: This presentation will cover some background material for ongoing work in behavioral epidemiology by the speaker in collaboration with Dr. David Gerberry of Xavier University and Ph.D. students Ying Xin and Chathuri Mudiyanselage of Ohio University.
Behavioral epidemiology studies how people make decisions about complying with control measures, such as vaccinations, that can prevent or at least limit the spread of pathogens, aka germs.
Games are a lot of fun. So how can they be of any use in the dead serious area of behavioral epidemiology?
Come to the talk and find out!
