Athens, OH— Appalachian Center for Economic Networks announces the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees as they begin their three-year terms, as well as the full slate of officers and board members for 2017.
Joining the Board of Trustees are Scott Zielinski and Catherine Allgood. The Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACEnet) is a community-based economic development organization serving the 32 counties of Appalachia Ohio. The mission of ACEnet is to grow the regional economy by supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening economic sectors.

Scott Zielinski ’00 is currently the Director of the Area 14 Workforce Development Board, an organization charged with the responsibility to procure workforce services, develop policies, and oversee Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding for a three-county area encompassing Athens, Meigs and Perry counties.
Zielinski previously spent 15 years with the Athens County Department of Job and Family Services in multiple roles, including the supervision of the Ohio Means Jobs – Athens County center (The Work Station), Special Projects Coordinator, and Coordinator of Reentry Services. He currently serves on multiple social service and workforce advisory boards, as well as the Athens County Reentry Task Force and the Athens County Opiate Task Force.
Zielinski graduated from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University in 2000 with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and resides in The Plains, Ohio, with his wife, Amy Beech, and daughter, Riley Zielinski.
Catherine Allgood ’06, ’14M currently serves as a Director of Development for University Advancement at Ohio University. She has worked with the university since 2008. During her time at OHIO, she served as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving as well as the Director of Development for Student Affairs. Prior to her return to Athens, Allgood served as the Assistant Director for Annual Giving at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio.
Allgood holds two degrees from Ohio University. She received a bachelor’s in Psychology in 2006 and completed a Master’s in Organizational Communication in 2014. She resides in Athens with her husband, Gabe Giordano, and their dog, Kevin Lynn.
