The Sociology and Anthropology Colloquium Series presents John Soderberg of Denison University on “Pagan and Christian: Religious Change at the end of the Iron Age in Ireland,” on Friday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. in Bentley Hall 306.
Abstract: Iron Age Ireland is a puzzle. Archaeologists have known for a long time about several dramatic ceremonial centers, but otherwise almost no sites from the period have been identified. This talk will survey new views of religion in Iron Age Ireland and consider what we learn about the dynamics of religious change between 100 BCE and 700 CE.
