University Program Council is a volunteer organization of students who work to bring innovative programs to Ohio University and the surrounding community.
“We strive to bring fun, exciting, and entertain programs and events for all members of OHIO. Our events have ranged from our weekly Flavor of the Week to our bigger events like our annual Throwback Thursday Concert during Senior Week, and our Mom’s Walk for a Cure,” says Hannah Hershfield, a UPC member.
As the middle of semester is approaching, UPC is beginning to search for its next executive board members and beginning the application process for the 2017-18 academic year. UPC is looking to fill the following positions, and College of Arts & Sciences students are encourage to apply:
- President
o Facilitates UPC Admin and Exec Board Meetings
o Serves as the Face of UPC
o Maintains a healthy relationship with UPC board as well as other OHIO organizations.
- Vice President
o Facilitates general body meetings every Tuesday nights.
o Increase involvement and retention
o Coordinate UPC alumni events
- Treasurer
o Maintain a balanced budget
o Collect receipts in a timely manner
o Make sure all paperwork is submitted properly for vendor payment
o Hold programmers accountable for sticking to budgets
o Maintain UPC’s credit card
- Communications Director
o Advise the COMMS team meetings
o Initiate all UPC branding initiatives
o Maintain a constant supply of UPC promotional Items
o Coordinate all promotional set ups at all events
- Live Entertainment Executive and Vice Chair
o Serve as the Live Entertainment expert for UPC
o Coordinate all live entertainment efforts of UPC
o With advisor’s assistance review all entertainer contracts
- Creative Events Executive and Vice Chair
o Plan at least two events per semester
o Plan Flavor of the Weeks as assigned
o Involve Vice Chairs as much as possible in all planning efforts
o Ensure successful events
- University Events Executive and Vice Chair
o Plan all special/Family weekend events
o Including but not limited to: Parents Weekend, Homecoming, Dads Weekend, Sibs Weekend, Moms Weekend, Senior Week,
- Communications Executives (Public Relations and Social Media)
o Be the voice of UPC
o Handle all press for events
o Write press releases
o Maintain all UPC social media accounts
- Graphic Designers
o Design all UPC related materials in timely manor
o Know how to us Adobe Creative Suite to design posters.
