The Francophone Studies certificate programs present a free showing of Jacque Tati’s modernist classic “Play Time” on Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. at The Athena, downtown Athens.
Jacques Tati’s comedy about confusion in an age of high technology, features the lovably old-fashioned Monsieur Hulot, along with a host of other lost souls, who are thrust into a baffling modern world in Paris. A fantastic film about being French, being modern and being bewildered. Film is in French with English subtitles. Discussion immediately following film.
