Dear alumni and friends,
I would like to wish you all a happy new year. The past year in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has been exciting. The number of students enrolled in chemistry classes at Ohio University has continued to increase, showing the need and attraction of the chemical sciences as vital 21st century skills. Our faculty continue to innovate in both teaching and research in order to keep these students motivated and excited about chemistry.
We welcome three new faculty members to the department this year. Jessica White (Inorganic), and Travis White (Inorganic) arrived this fall, and Anthony Stender (Analytical/Forensic) has just started this January. We are excited about the contributions of these three new faculty members. In addition, planning for an addition to and renovation of Clippinger Laboratories is under way.
We hope that you will find time to visit us in the next year, perhaps at the upcoming Career and Networking Week, Homecoming, or one of Athen’s signature events such as Brew Week. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus and meeting our faculty and students.
