Hello Sociology & Anthropology Bobcats and Friends,
Welcome to our winter e-newsletter! We have had a busy semester and have been happy to see many of our alumni.
We were excited to see alumni at our tailgate visitors on Oct. 8—check out the story in this newsletter. October was Archaeology month, and we took advantage of that to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our field school. We had events all month long and we hosted an alumni panels, tour of the field sites, and talks.
Our alumni have been coming to campus to speak to students, and our students are really excited about hearing from everyone. This fall Michael Richard and Ryan Knight came and spoke about anti-money laundering. Becky Filar spoke with students in the Sociology-Criminology Club about being a victim advocate for the Athens County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
We are thrilled to engage with our alumni—at events, through panels, as class speakers or student club guests. Come to the A&S Career & Networking Week Jan. 30 to Feb. 3. We hope to see you at the Networking Reception in the ballroom on Feb. 2.
It is wonderful to see where you all are and what you are doing. Keep it up we love hearing from you! Please email Ann Bennett with your update – or perhaps recommend another alumni to spotlight.
Be sure to watch for future e-newsletter installments!
Best wishes,
Christine Mattley
