The Psychology Colloquium series presents Dr. Hal Arkes on “Hindsight and Overconfidence in Medicine: OU and OSU Research” on Friday, Oct. 7, at 11:50 a.m. in Porter 102.
Arkes is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at The Ohio State University. He is interested in medical and economic decision making. He also has done some work in legal decision making. Arkes more recent work pertains to whether a physician’s use of a decision aid causes patients to think that the physician is less capable.
Arkes is a former president of the Society for Judgment and Decision Making. He was elected “Fellow” of American Psychological Society in 1997 and has received teaching awards from Ohio University (College of Arts & Sciences Outstanding Teacher Award and the Provost’s Teaching Recognition Award).
