The Psychology Colloquium series presents Dr. Margo Monteith on “Combatting Implicit Intergroup Bias: Self-and Other-motivated Strategies for Reducing Discrimination” on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11:50 a.m. in Porter 102.
Monteith is a professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. “Her research interests concern stereotyping and prejudice (particularly involving implicit biases and prejudice reduction strategies), inequality and discrimination, and fostering positive intergroup relations and inclusion. Monteith has been elected to a variety of leadership roles, including President of the Midwestern Psychological Association, Executive Committee member of the Society for Experimental Social Psychology, and Council member of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues and the Midwestern Psychological Association. She has served as Associate Editor of Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Social Cognition, and Group Processes and Intergroup Relations,” according to her website.
