Dr. Kimberly Rios, Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of Experimental Training, delivers a talk on Insiders or Outsiders? Multiculturalism and Diversity in Today’s World on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. in Porter 103.
Pizza will be served.
Professor Rios is an experimental social psychologist, and her research focuses on social identity—specifically, how membership in a variety of social categories (e.g., race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and religion) can affect one’s attitudes and behaviors, as well as relations between groups.
Her research has recently been quoted in the New York Times.
The event is sponsored by three themes: War & Peace, Making and Breaking the Law, and Love and Hate, along with the Center for Law, Justice & Culture.
For more information, contact Dr. Nukhet Sandal, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of the War and Peace Studies program.
