You’re all going to wake up on Sept. 15, the day after the Majors Fair, with your major picked and your whole life mapped out.
You’ve spoken to an adviser in your intended area of study, and you’re feeling good about life. But how do you declare your major?!?
Declaring your major can actually be quite simple but quite hard depending on what program of study you are wanting. If you’re declaring a major in the College of Arts & Sciences, all you need to do is stop into Wilson Hall (on the College Green), Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to complete a Change of Major Form.
However, if you’re considering a major in another college, I highly recommend that you make a one-on-one appointment with an adviser in that area. Why? Because some majors and programs at OHIO are selective, and it’s not as simple as just completing a form. Some require that you meet a certain GPA or have certain classes completed prior to applying. Some are highly selective and some have limited spots available. And some only take applications at certain times of the year.
