First-year students are invited to apply for the Pepsi Scholars program at Ohio University.
This leadership program for freshman students is designed to help individuals develop a wide variety of leadership skills and experiences, in addition to receiving a monetary scholarship.
Important Dates
- Info Sessions: Sept. 22, Oct. 4, Oct. 10
- Application Available: Sept. 1
- Application Due: Oct. 21
Criteria
- Be a first year student (freshman) at Ohio University.
- Be enrolled as a full time student.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Exhibit leadership potential.
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA throughout the program’s entirety.
- Be in good standing with the university judicial system at the time of application and remain in good standing during tenure as a Pepsi Leadership Scholar.
- Attend weekly meetings (that will be scheduled based on the award winners’ availability) throughout the academic year.
- Attend all retreats and workshops during the fall and spring semester.
What Do the Scholars Do?
- One hour weekly meetings
- Personal development workshops
- 21st Century Leadership program and certificate
- Community Service events
- Group retreat(s)
How Long is the Program?
- One year total
- Second semester of freshman year (spring) through first semester of sophomore year (fall)
