The Voinovich School’s “Scholar Program” is currently seeking exceptional students with diverse interests for 2016-17 undergraduate research opportunities. The application deadline has been extended to Friday, Feb. 12.
Positions are available in many of the School’s teams, including the Consortium for Energy, Economics & the Environment, whose team of faculty, staff and students are focused on air, data, energy, land, policy, waste and water issues. CE3 works within Ohio University and with local, state and federal government agencies and officials, industry representatives, our academic peers and nonprofit groups to develop well-rounded solutions to energy and environmental issues. For example:
CE3’s Policy Scholars assist with research, communication and outreach efforts related to energy, policy, food, zero waste, sustainability and more applied in a real-world setting. They are seeking students interested in learning about the interconnections between these systems—how they affect each other, the community and the environment in areas such as:
- State and federal air quality and energy issues
- Climate change policy and adaptation
- Sustainability practices and resiliency in businesses and communities
- Waste management/zero waste policies and practices
CE3’s Water Team is seeking students with an interest and/or experience in:
- Chemical and biological water quality
- Environmental data management
- Groundwater
- Stream and wetlands
- GIS and environmental mapping
- Environmental education
- Community outreach and environmental project development
