Students for Law, Justice, & Culture hosts a respected voice concerning issues of criminal justice on Thursday, Jan. 28. from 6-8 p.m. in Porter 103.
Gary Daniels, Chief Lobbyist in the Columbus office of the ACLU of Ohio will speak about his work lobbying at the Ohio Statehouse, with a particular focus on criminal justice and mass incarceration. Daniels is a renowned policy expert and has been with the ACLU in some capacity over the time frame of 1995-2000 and 2003 to the present.
A 1994 graduate of Kent State University, Daniels graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He is originally from Youngstown, Ohio.
From an official bio on the ACLU website: “Gary works with local and statewide elected and government officials to further the ACLU’s mission. He is a frequent commentator on civil liberties issues in local, statewide and national print, TV and online media.”
Students for Law, Justice & Culture, is a group of students who gather for meetings every Thursday and promote and engage with critical perspectives about the law.
