Alumni Giving Supports Psychology Student Scholarships, Research

Brad Osuna is one of 10 undergrads receiving alumni-funded scholarships.

The Psychology Department is incredibly grateful for the generous donations it receives from alumni. Gifts to Psychology are used to support undergraduate, graduate, and faculty research, educational enrichment, training, and professional development opportunities.

Last year, for example, 11 students received department undergraduate scholarships funded by donations from Psychology alumni and friends. Phoenix Crane, Sara Springer, Ashley Romeo, Mackenzie Yonek, Natalia Sanchez, Diana Chaidez, Elana Gloger, Jennifer Cyr, Bradley Osuna, Miyah Grant, and Natalie Stepp are all grateful for their scholarship funding. Students in the Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology program benefit from an ongoing support provided by The William C. Byham Industrial/Organizational Psychology Graduate Student Support Fund  from OHIO alum, Dr. William C. Byham, B.S. ’58, M.S. ’60, the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Development Dimensions International (DDI). Contributions for this program are used to fund research opportunities and graduate travel to regional, national, and international conferences, that may otherwise be cost-prohibitive for students. Rodger Griffeth, the Byham Chair of I/O Psychology and professor of psychology, credits Dr. Byham’s investment as providing “a stronger pool of I/O Psychology candidates who will have a profound impact on the field.”

“Regardless of whether your gift is small or large, your tax-deductible donation will be used to enhance student experience and support the department’s educational mission,” says Department Chair Bruce Carlson. “Please consider making a gift to the department this fall.”
