Chair of the Geography Department
Greetings from Athens, to alumni, friends, and Geography compatriots!
I hope everyone enjoys catching up with the Department with this successor to our Geogram. We might have changed a bit since you last looked. We’re now a department of 15 full-time faculty, with 200 majors enrolled in one of seven majors, including the newest “Globalization and Development,” and we have a couple dozen graduate students in residence.
We also have part-time support teaching Cartography from Ana Mojica Myers, an alumna of our graduate program, and local lawyer R.J. Shostak, who teaches Environmental Law for us.
In January we will be welcoming Scott Reinemann as a Visiting Assistant Professor to help meet our growing teaching and advising needs with our Meteorology major. Scott is an alumnus of our own Meteorology program, who went on to earn his Ph.D. at Ohio State.
Enough about us—Tell us about you! We’d love to hear from our alumni about your lives, both professional and personal. And as always, you have an open invitation to visit when your travels take you to Athens. Until then, best wishes for the holiday season!
