Students for Law, Justice & Culture hosts screenings of Selma and The Case Against 8 on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18.
The film series as a part of the Center for Law, Justice & Culture‘s annual series on Critical Resistance through Legal Activism.
Both screenings are in Ellis 112 from 6 to 8 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
Selma
Tuesday Nov. 17
Selma, which was nominated for Best Picture, tells the phenomenal story of Martin Luther King Jr. and civil rights activists who protested the lack of equality with a marathon civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965.
The Case Against 8
Wednesday Nov. 18
The Case Against 8 tells the story of the struggle to overturn California’s gay marriage ban, a fight that ultimately led to a Supreme Court decision in favor of gay marriage earlier this year.
