The Athens Village Hosts Lunch for OPIE Students
Members of The Athens Village, a community of older adults in Athens, invited OPIE students to join them for a potluck lunch on Saturday, Nov. 21. Many of the senior citizens in attendance had had experience living or traveling overseas. This helped encourage conversation between these Athens community members and the international students present. Along with engaging conversation, OPIE students also enjoyed trying American dishes such as chili, cranberry sauce, lentil soup, and lemon bars. The Athens Village hopes to partner with OPIE again in the future to facilitate interaction and friendship between its members and international students at Ohio University.
