The Contemporary History Institute presents guest lecturer Dr. Katherine Epstein on “The Hidden History of National-Security Information” on Nov. 5 at 4:30 p.m. in Baker Ballroom A.
Epstein, Associate Professor of History at Rutgers University-Camden, earned a B.A. summa cum laude with distinction in history from Yale University in 2004, an MPhil in international relations from the University of Cambridge in 2005, and a Ph.D. in history from Ohio State University in 2011. Her first book, Torpedo: Inventing the Military-Industrial Complex in the United States and Great Britain, was published by Harvard University Press in 2014. Her current project is a history of defense contracting and national-security information in the United States from the Civil War to the early Cold War.
