Undergraduate student Jesse Kowalski ’16, majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Applied Nutrition, received one of the 2015 John J. Kopchick Awards for research at Ohio University.
The John J. Kopchick Molecular and Cellular Biology/Translational Biomedical Sciences Undergraduate Student Support Fund provides up to $1,500 for undergraduate students working with MCB/TBS faculty and conducting translational medical research and scholarly activities.
Kowalski’s project is “The effects of obesity and weight cycling on hepatic gene expression in mice,” and her faculty mentor is Ed List.
