“Many trivia lovers can only imagine what it’s like to compete on one of the game’s most well-known stages. One Athens County woman got to find out for herself,” reports www.theNewsCenter.tv in Parkesburg. WV.
The Jeopardy episode on which Sally Hatfield competed airs on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Sally Hatfield is a lecturer in the Ohio Program of Intensive English at Ohio University. She traveled to Los Angeles to be a contestant on Jeopardy!
She says that she’s been interested in trivia her entire life. She even competed in quiz bowl competitions throughout high school and college.
Earlier this year, she made the journey to Kansas City to try out for the show. To prepare, she says she continued taking several trivia quizzes and started making sure that she was caught up on current events.
“I’ve taken the online test twice now to try out for the show and this year I took it and thought I might have done decently well, and pretty much forgot about it, and then was contacted by Jeopardy in may to find out if I wanted to come audition for the show in Kansas City. Anybody that likes trivia, take the online test and see where it goes. I took it more than once, I don’t think there’s any way that you’re going to know until you try it how you’re going to do, so yeah, totally worth it,” Hatfield said.
