Dr. Tom Wolf, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, discusses “Permutation Groups” on Monday, Oct. 26, from 5-6 p.m. in Morton 322.
His talk is part of the MATH 4993 Senior Seminar.
Abstract: We will discuss various aspects of permutation groups including transitivity, multiple transitivity and groups of symmetries. Included are some counting arguments. We will close with some applications to well-known puzzles.
