The Condensed Matter & Surface Sciences Colloquium Series presents Rolando Valdes Aguilar of The Ohio State University on “Studying Matter with Terahertz Radiation.” on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 4:10 p.m. in Walter 245.
Abstract: THz spectroscopy has sprung to the forefront of the study of quantum materials in recent years. With these recent advances, we can now bridge the gap between the opportunities of photonics in the infrared and visible range, and those of electronics in the microwave.
I will describe our recent explorations into the physics of topological materials, and quantum magnets using terahertz spectroscopy.
