Advising Tip | Learn from Your Mistakes

Now that the excitement of Homecoming has passed, it’s time to focus on the second half of the semester.

While there is still time to turn things around I highly encourage you to consider the first seven weeks.

  • Have you been working to the best of your ability?
  • Utilizing your time and resources wisely?

If not, you need to get a plan in place.

If you’re highly disorganized, it helps to have a separate folder or divider for each class where you put all of your notes, etc., in the order that you receive them.

If you seem to never have time to study, you need to take a good look at where your time is going. Put down the phone, game controller, and TV remote. Pick up your planner and map out a solid study schedule that allows you to learn information in bits and bites.

If your social life is a little too social, you need to keep it to the weekends and learn to say no when an event or hanging out interferes with school.

It’s up to you to put these things into practice but we’re here if you need help to organize.
