The Career and Leadership Development Center launches two new certificate series this fall. Both the Professional Leadership Certificate and the 21st Century Leadership Certificate combine dynamic, interactive workshops and one-on-one coaching appointments to build students’ career-readiness and leadership skills.
Leadership workshops for both certificates will be offered weekly in the Amanda J. Cunningham Leadership Center (Baker University Center 366).
Professional Leadership Certificate
The Professional Leadership Certificate equips Ohio University students with the tools and information they will need to be successful in the job and internship search process.
Complete three workshops, a 30-minute career coaching appointment, and a mock interview to earn the Professional Leadership Certificate.
Workshops meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Who Are You and Why Should I Care?—Leadership branding for networking success
- Bragging Rights—Creating the perfect resume and cover letter
- Hunting and Gathering—Job search and interviewing
21st Century Leadership Certificate
The 21st Century Leadership Certificate is designed to engage students in conversations about leadership topics that are relevant to what they are experiencing as OHIO students and to equip them with knowledge of leadership concepts that will prepare them to lead in today’s global society.
Complete three workshops and leadership coaching to earn the 21st Century Leadership Certificate.
Workshops meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Building an Awesome Team—Understanding team development
- I Am Right. You Are Wrong.—Understanding ethics and values
- Get It Together—Understanding emotional intelligence
Workshops rotate weekly. See the Workshop Schedule.
Students also can earn a CLDC Certificate by completing both the Professional Leadership and the 21st Century Leadership certificates.
