The Mathematics Colloquium series presents “Many-particle dynamics via differential inclusions” on Wednesday, April 8, at 4:15 p.m. in Morton 216.
The presenter is Marco Morandotti, a post-doc in applied mathematics at SISSA in Trieste, Italy.
Abstract: In this talk I will present some results concerning the dynamics of a system of screwdislocations. Screwdislocations move according to a maximal dissipation criterion, which leads to a differential inclusion. I will show how a suitable theoretical setup will lead to existence and right uniqueness for the equations of motion.
