The Between Love and Hate curricular theme is co-sponsoring Hip Hop Awareness Week at Ohio University, March 30 to April 4.
The week-long series of events is brought to campus by the Ohio University chapter of Hip Hop Congress, the Student Activities Commission (SAC), and the Black Student Cultural Programming Board.
Hip Hop Awareness Week Events
March 30: “No Introduction,” 6-7 p.m., Grover W113
Opening keynote address featuring J.Rawls, an accomplished music producer and founder of the Polar entertainment record label. Among his credits is the production of “Brown Skin Lady” by Mos Def and Talib Kweli.
March 31: Footprints from the Dungeon Panel, 4-6 p.m., Bentley 140
Footprints from the Dungeon: A retrospective panel featuring Dr. Regina Bradley, host of “Outkasted Conversations” and African American Studies faculty Dr. Aretina Hamilton and Dr. Akil Houston.
April 1: Fashion Killa, 7-9 p.m., Ellis 111
