Dr. Ayesha Hardison, Associate Professor of English at Ohio University, won the College English Association of Ohio’s Nancy Dasher Award for Writing through Jane Crow: Race and Gender Politics in African American Literature.
She will be honored at the association’s conference on April 18. The selection committee was very complimentary of her work.
The Nancy Dasher Award recognizes outstanding publications by faculty members from a CEAO-member department in one of three areas each year: creative writing, professional and pedagogical issues, and literary scholarship and criticism (including theory). The 2014-15 award is in the category of literary scholarship and criticism.
CEAO is the only higher-education English association in Ohio and an affiliate of the College English Association.
Earlier this year, Hardison’s book was named an Outstanding Academic Title by Choice.
