Dr. Carl Brune, Professor of Physics & Astronomy, authored three chapters in an Ohio Biological Survey publication, Amphibians of Ohio.

He is the only non-zoologist among the authors. One of Brune’s hobbies is to study snakes, lizards and other reptiles or amphibians. He can often be found on weekends taking hikes through the countryside and cataloging the amphibians that he finds.

It is unusual for a professor to publish outside of his or her field, and Brune has broken through this barrier showing that curiosity has no limits.
