About a hundred Ohio Program of Intensive English students and faculty gathered Friday, March 20 for an evening at Rollerbowl. For many students, it was their first time bowling and included challenges such as figuring out what size of bowling shoe they needed (shoe sizes are different in other countries) and how to find a suitable bowling ball. Along with the clash of the balls hitting the pins, shouts of accomplishment, groans of gutter balls and lots of chatter and laughter could be heard as students enjoyed the fun.
While enjoying their dinner of pizza, several students expressed how much they enjoyed Avalanche Pizza. Most popular pizza of the evening: kimchi and mandarin oranges! Regardless of its toppings, the pizza disappeared quite quickly!
OPIE Bowling Night is a yearly OPIE activity that introduces many students to bowling and provides an atmosphere for all to socialize outside of the classroom.
