OPIE Lecture Series
Speaker Tim Woodyard of the Ohio University Police Department talks on “Safety on campus” on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 2-2:55 p.m. in Morton 201.
Navigating the University Landscape: A Roadmap
Undergraduate Ohio University students in Advanced and Pre-Academic OPIE classes are invited to workshops which aim to prepare them for transitioning to part-time OPIE/academic studies.
- Workshop 1: Wednesday, Feb. 25, noon-1:30 p.m., Ellis Hall 119.
- Workshop 2: Wednesday, March 11, 10-11:30 a.m., Grover West 135.
The goals of the workshops are:
- to introduce students to the U.S. system of education
- to discuss some vital concepts of the U.S. academic culture
- to help students locate important academic resources on Ohio University campus
- to share some communication strategies to use with instructors and advisors
- to help students understand Ohio University Undergraduate degree requirements
- to equip students with strategies to understand the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS)
- to practice finding important information on DARS
- to give students tips on planning classes and creating schedules
