While I am by no means a financial aid expert, I know that college can be a large investment. For this week I would like to provide you with a few suggestions on where to find additional funding, as well as where to seek help should you have questions about financial aid. First things first, the deadline for Ohio University’s Upperclass Scholarships is March 1, so be sure to apply!
This one application allows you to be considered for most scholarships offered through Ohio University, as well as through your college’s dean. Keep in mind that there are a few stipulations to be considered for the dean’s scholarship, and all other scholarships have varying prerequisites such as GPA, major and place of residence.
Additional funding sources could potentially be through the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards, student employment positions such as Work Study, PACE, Summer Service Corps and hourly employment, as well as through community organizations such as Career Connections, who offer temporary and direct hire positions.
If you ever have questions about your financial aid and funding sources, be sure to contact your Financial Aid adviser. Didn’t know you had one? You can find your financial aid adviser online; they assigned by your last name. All students are encouraged to make an appointment with their assigned adviser at least one day in advance by visiting the Financial Aid Office or giving them a call at 740-593-4141.
