Psychology Alum Named Graduate Dean at Wheeling Jesuit University

Ohio University alum Christopher Petrosino ’88, ’97M, 04Ph.D. has been named Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies at Wheeling (WV) Jesuit University, reports WVNSTV.

Petrosino earned a B.A. in Psychology from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University, followed by a BSPT in Physical Therapy, an M.Ed., and a Ph.D. in Communications.

At Wheeling Jesuit University, Dilonvale native Christopher Petrosino has begun his new duties in the newly created position of dean of graduate and professional studies, where he is responsible for all academic and non-credit programs that serve the adult and graduate population….

A graduate from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology/ pre-physical therapy and physical therapy, Petrosino also earned a master’s in higher education administration and a doctor of philosophy in 2004 from Ohio University. He has had careers as a physical therapist and in education for more than 25 years and was the associate academic vice president at Walsh University before coming to WJU. Petrosino served as the dean of graduate studies/ professor of physical therapy at Walsh from 2010 and was the chair of physical therapy/ coordinator of graduate studies and then director of graduate studies from 2007-2010, while also working as a physical therapist….

“In the first three months at Wheeling Jesuit, I will use the time to dive into the strengths and areas in need of improvement of all programs that are my responsibility, as well as the examination and evaluation of organizational structure, policies and procedures,” Petrosino said in a press release.
