The Biological Sciences Graduate Society presents Dr. Glenn Tattersall on “Thermoregulation is for the Birds” on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. in Irvine 199.
Tattersall is a comparative and evolutionary physiologist from Brock University in Ontario, Canada. He will discuss his studies on avian thermoregulation, with a particular emphasis on his recent discoveries highlighting the importance of the bill as a heat exchanger, in addition to its obvious role in feeding. His talk will cover areas from thermoregulatory physiology to biogeography and touch on his recent research project examining these questions in Darwin’s finches of the Galapagos Islands.
Light refreshments will be served.
Also join Tattersall and members of the Biological Sciences Graduate Society for pizza and discussion on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at noon in Life Sciences Building 103.
