LANCASTER – City Councilman Robert Hedges on Friday announced he is running for the council presidency in 2015….
Hedges said that, if he is elected, he will model his presidency after former council President Ken Culver’s.
“Although former council President Ken Culver and I were on opposite ends of the political spectrum and differed on a lot of issues, I was always impressed by Ken’s attendance at nearly all of the meetings of the nine standing committees of Lancaster City Council,” Hedges said. “I think that it is very important for a council president to remain engaged in committee matters and discussions.”
Hedges said his impending retirement will provide him the time to attend the committee meetings and also attend neighborhood block watch groups in the city.
