Dr. Winfried Just, Professor of Mathematics, will speak on “Unraveling complex systems: What do brains, the internet, and ant colonies have in common?” on Monday, Nov. 10, at 11:50 a.m. in Morton 318.
His talk is part of the MATH 4993 Senior Seminar.
Abstract: The study of complex systems is at the cutting edge in many areas of scientific inquiry. One often hears about an emerging interdisciplinary science of complex systems. This presentation gives a brief introduction to some mathematical challenges posed by these studies, including recent work in this area at the Department of Mathematics of Ohio University.
