Hattie’s Gardens is a vocational training program for adults with developmental disabilities. Participants create sustainable gardens that grow fresh, organic produce for residents and restaurants in the greater Akron, OH, area. This unique program improves access to healthy local organic food while educating participants in aspects of food production and sustainable land management.
Come hear about the good food and good works growing in Hattie’s Garden—refreshments are served following the presentation.
Students, faculty, and community members are all most welcome.
Food for Thought is a Food Studies curricular theme event.
