The College of Arts & Sciences is offering a short 75-minute workshop for graduate students interested in submitting an NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Wilson Hall 303.
NSF provides Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grants (DDIG) in various disciplines within the natural, physical, and social sciences. Many of these deadlines are fast approaching.
This workshop emphasizes what makes a successful proposal. Dr. Jared DeForest, who recently served on a DDIG panel, will provide some insights and suggestions for proposal development and success at NSF in general.
Lunch is provided.
“We have seating for about 20, so first-come first served,” notes Dr. Brian McCarthy, Associate Dean for Faculty, Graduate Studies and Research. “Any doctoral student considering submission of a DDIG this year or next would benefit greatly. I do need an email RSVP (no later than Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 5 p.m.) from students to assess lunch needs.”
