Patterson Featured on Father’s Day in Messenger

Dr. Stephen Patterson, Associate Professor of Psychology, was the Father’s Day story on June 15 in the Athens Messenger.

In a story on “Reflection of multi-generational parenting,” he talked about his 2-year-old twins and his older children.

When it was discovered that Steve Patterson’s wife Connie was pregnant with twin girls in 2011, it wasn’t Steve’s first rodeo in the arena of fatherhood. In fact, there are 28 years now separating his oldest and youngest children.

Steve, who is a psychology professor at Ohio University and Athens City Councilman, got his first foray into parenthood in 1983 when he adopted his first wife’s children Christina and Fernando who were 3 and 5 at the time. A year later, his daughter Camilla was born. His son Julian arrived another two years after that….

Not only is Steve the father of six children, but he’s also a grandfather to seven.
