Faculty are invited to a Brown Bag Lunch Conversation about Online Course Design on Friday, April 25, at noon in Wilson Hall 303.
“Today’s students are natives to the digital world, where the main form of communication happens through social media networks,” says the College of Arts & Sciences’ new instructional designer, Laura Patch. “Come to this workshop to learn how you can tap into this social media resource, and learn tips for teaching today’s online students in a way that is engaging and innovative!” Learn how to:
- Use Twitter effectively for teaching
- Teach with Facebook and Google +
- Use blogs, Skype, and Google for student interaction
- Tap the endless multimedia resources of YouTube and Flickr
“Are you thinking about offering a new online course or wanting to refresh a current one?” she asks. “Please bring your lunch and join your colleagues to discuss new and exciting possibilities for taking your Arts & Sciences courses online!”
