Ohio University alum and Athens City Law Director Pat Lang ’99 “confirmed late Monday that he plans to announce on Tuesday his candidacy for Athens County Common Pleas Court, Judge L. Alan Goldsberry’s seat on the court,” reported the Post’s Kelly Fisher on Jan. 28
Lang earned a degree in Political Science Pre-Law from the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University. He earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati.
“Lang will make his announcement at a reception to be held at the Pigskin Bar & Grille, 38 N. Court St. He was unable to be reached for comment by press time,” Fisher wrote.
“The director of law is an elected position and is responsible for providing legal support and advice to city officials, as well as city boards and commissions,” according to the City of Athens website.
“The city prosecutors are responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor crimes committed in the City of Athens and in the unincorporated areas of Athens County.
“About the Director: A former member of the Athens City Council, Law Director Patrick Lang was elected in 2007 and has served the city in a full-time capacity since that time. Prior to becoming law director, Pat worked as an assistant Athens County prosecutor, where he prosecuted felony crime, handled criminal appeals, and represented county government in civil proceedings,” says the Athens website.
