Ohio University student-athlete Juli Accurso ’14 became the first runner in Mid-American Conference history to win three straight individual league titles as she claimed the 6-kilometer race in a time of 20:37.46 on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Bowling Green.
“It was definitely a goal of mine,” she said. “I thought about two things throughout the entire summer. The first was winning MAC as a team. That is what we worked toward every single day. Unfortunately we had some injuries that came late in the season so we weren’t able to accomplish that, but I knew to contribute to the team and reach that goal, I wanted to win because that is what I was capable of. It’s a really great feeling to have accomplished this.”
Accurso is a double major in Linguistics and French in the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University.
