The Ohio Department of Natural Resources named Ken Fitz ’86 as the executive administrator of law enforcement for the ODNR Division of Wildlife. “Fitz has worked for the ODNR Division of Wildlife since 1996,” reports the Vinton County Courier on June 5.
“Ken has done an outstanding job as the acting administrator and has my complete confidence and support as he enters into his new responsibilities,” said ODNR Division of Wildlife Chief Scott Zody. “I appreciate the experience and leadership he brings to the position, and I look forward to working with Ken.”
As a wildlife officer cadet, Fitz attended the Ohio Highway Patrol basic peace officer and wildlife officer academies. He was assigned as the Franklin County wildlife officer in 1996. He has also served as the Erie County wildlife officer, a wildlife officer supervisor, district law enforcement supervisor, law enforcement program administrator and acting executive administrator of law enforcement.
Fitz graduated from Hocking College with an associate degree in recreation and wildlife management and earned a bachelor’s degree in field biology from Ohio University. He is also a graduate of the Ohio Certified Public Manager Program. Fitz, a native of Sandusky, resides in Grove City.
The Department of Environmental and Plant Biology is in Ohio University’s College of Arts & Sciences.
