Twin brothers came to Ohio University. One majored in Psychology. The other in History.
What are they doing now? David and Jonathan Bennett are working on being popular—and helping others be successful and popular.
They decided to study the science behind popularity, test the theories—and write a practical book to help men advance at work, make friends, and get dates. Their new handbook on male popularity is on Amazon: Be Popular Now: How Any Man Can Become Confident, Attractive and Successful (And Have Fun Doing It).
“Do you sit at home on weekends, without a date or an exciting circle of friends? Are you stuck in a boring job that is going nowhere? Are you amazed (and maybe a little jealous) when you see how easily some guys meet new people and attract beautiful women? Sadly, you can’t go to college and major in popularity, and advice from family and friends isn’t helpful,” they say in their book promo. “So you feel helpless, returning to old behaviors with predictable results (unpopularity)…. Fortunately, the secrets of popularity are now available to every guy. Popular people think and act differently than unpopular people.”
“We had done a lot of research to improve our own popularity and success and what we developed worked quite well. We noticed that while others focused on specific areas (like dating), no one was really writing about popularity. Yet, being attractive to others and winning them over for companionship (our definition of popularity), is a basic human need. We felt the book was needed in a Western world that is only getting lonelier,” Jonathan told blogger A.F. Stewart. “We really looked at the hard sciences, areas such as brain research, evolutionary biology, psychology, etc. The subjective art of being popular and attractive is grounded in a pretty objective human nature.” Read the entire interview.
The brothers own and operate websites with more than a million visitors a year, including The Popular Man (thepopularman.com), The Popular Teen (thepopularteen.com), and ChurchYear.Net. In 2007, they started a communications company that has grown significantly and now includes two publishing companies, Theta Hill Press and Cedar Grove Press. They also write, consult and speak about popularity, spirituality, health and success.
